backstory:

El Floridita is a historic bar and restaurant in Habana Vieja, considered the birthplace of the daiquiri. It first opened 1817 as Piña de Plata, and was renamed El Floridita in 1914. The bar was a popular hangout for Ernest Hemingway, and has a strong connection to Cuban culture and history. The bar is famous for its Cantinero tradition, where bartenders perform acrobatic feats while mixing cocktails. El Floridita remains open today with it’s original neon sign still glowing out front.
